The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that calculators will not be allowed during the JEE Main 2026 examination. This announcement comes after confusion arose from a typographical error in the Information Bulletin released on October 31. Initially, the bulletin stated that candidates would have access to an on-screen calculator during the computer-based test. However, the NTA issued a correction on November 2, confirming that this information was incorrect.

The NTA explained that while the on-screen calculator feature exists on its general testing platform, it will not be available for JEE Main. The official notice stated, "It has been mentioned that an onscreen standard calculator will be available during the Computer-Based Test. However, this feature forms part of the generic test conducting platform and does NOT apply to JEE (Main) conducted by the NTA, as the use of calculators in any form is not permitted in this examination."

Applications for JEE Main 2026 opened on October 31 and will remain open until November 27. The examination will be conducted in two sessions: the first session from January 21 to 30, 2026, and the second session in April 2026. Results for the first session are expected to be announced on February 26, 2026. The revised Information Bulletin has removed the section regarding the on-screen calculator, ensuring candidates are aware of the examination rules.
