President Droupadi Murmu addressed the special session of the Uttarakhand State Assembly. She said, as a result of holistic development efforts, there has been improvement in several parameters of the Human Development Index in the state. Expressing happiness over the rising literacy rate, the President said, the scope of women’s education has expanded in the state. She added that there has been a decline in maternal and infant mortality rates, and the government is making efforts to make healthcare services more accessible.
