The Grand Junction High School Hall of Fame Committee has made a pick for its next inductee: a rock-star athlete from the Class of 1958 with accolades in track, football and basketball. There’s just one problem:

Nobody can find him.

Selection Committee Member Roy Coca, a former sports editor for The Daily Sentinel with plenty of connections in the athletic community of the day, said Hall of Fame Inductee Ron Leitch was nowhere to be found.

“Traditionally, anyone that’s born in Grand Junction, because it’s not that big of a community, we can usually find them,” Coca said. “But this guy, he went off of the map, and I don’t know where in the heck he is … I’m trying to find out even where he went to college.”
