Mumbai and its suburbs have been receiving heavy rain since Sunday morning, with suburban areas witnessing especially intense showers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar till Thursday. Although the impact of the two low-pressure systems that formed last week has reduced, they continue to bring rain to some parts of the state.
Rain began in Mumbai on Saturday and continued through Sunday, with areas such as Powai, Bandra, Andheri, and Byculla seeing heavy showers around 11 a.m., accompanied by cloudy skies. The wet weather disappointed residents who had planned weekend outings or attended the Women’s World Cup match.
Navi Mumbai received heavier rainfall than Mumbai, recording 26.2 mm at Colaba and 23.8 mm at Santa
