NEWARK – After Newark Charter took its first loss of the season at Caravel in overtime , team captain Audrey Nelson took hold of the post-game huddle.

"We're going to win it when it matters," she said.

The Patriots (13-4) scuffled into the finish, losing three of their final five regular-season games. But with Nelson's overtime goal in a 2-1 quarterfinal win over Tower Hill, the Patriots earned a chance to again face Caravel – this time with everything on the line.
