Bird lovers can connect with fellow enthusiasts and learn about seasonal bird species during free monthly “Birds and Coffee” chats hosted by the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary in Augusta.

The virtual events begin at 10 a.m. and are scheduled for Nov. 12 and Dec. 10. Each session features a different topic and guest speaker, according to a community announcement.

The November chat is expected to focus on swans and geese, while the December session will highlight rare birds spotted in Michigan throughout the year. Michigan Sea Grant Extension Educator Elliot Nelson is scheduled to join the December event.

Participants are encouraged to share recent bird sightings and ask questions during the Zoom-based discussions. The chats are free and open to the public, but registration is required to
