The Cyberabad Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the Chevella road accident that claimed 21 lives, including two drivers, and left atleast 20 others injured near Mirzaguda.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty said the inquiry was underway to determine the cause of the accident. “With both drivers dead, it is too early to fix responsibility. The impact

of the collision and the falling gravel led to the high death toll,” he stated.

Postmortem examinations were conducted at Chevella Government Hospital following the request of the victims’ families, and the bodies are handed over after completion of formalities.

The truck driver, identified as Akash Kamble of Maharashtra, was employed by Lachanna Nayak of Mahabubnagar.
