Bella Culley, a pregnant British teenager who admitted to smuggling drugs into Georgia, is set to be released from prison.
The 19-year-old Teessider, who is reportedly due to give birth in December, was expected to face jail time after her confession earlier this year . Her mother, Lyanne, expressed her relief outside the courtroom, telling the Mirror: "I am so happy, so happy. I know I don't look like it, but so happy."
Prosecutor Vakhtang Tsalugelashvili explained the decision, stating: "It was our initiative - we took into consideration her age, her condition and her good behaviour, and that she fully cooperated". A court insider added that Georgian authorities decided to show mercy to the teenager given her impending childbirth.
Bella had already spent nearly six months on remand
