NHS Ayrshire & Arran has claimed that “no formal commitment” was made to South Ayrshire Council with regards to the doomed plan for a £30 million care village in Ayr town centre. ‌

The news filtered through on Thursday afternoon that South Ayrshire Counci l are expected to officially scrap the project when they meet on November 6. ‌

The local authority issued an update, conceding that the ambitious proposal, earmarked for the Hourstons and Arran Mall, was “no longer viable” due to a “lack of funding.” ‌
