Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday reviewed the progress of four semiconductor chip plants currently under various stages of development in Gujarat.
The review meeting, held in Gandhinagar, was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, and IT Minister Arjun Modhwadia. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Vaishnaw said that all four projects are “showing good progress.”
The minister highlighted that electronics manufacturing and semiconductor fabrication are key pillars of India’s growth strategy, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
