EAST LANSING — Abbey Kimball entered her junior season ready to build.
After being a fixture as a starter for the Michigan State women's basketball program as a sophomore in the 2023-24 season, Kimball had visions of doing more.
But that never happened.
Kimball said she never really felt like herself during the 2024-25 season
"I wasn't really there," Kimball said. "There's a lot that went on that I was mentally struggling. I was mentally struggling a lot last year. A lot of stuff went along with that that just kind of got me out of the loop and I just felt super down all the time and I wasn't feeling the best."
Those struggles had an impact in a season that Kimball went from being a returning starter to reserve to out of the playing rotation. There was also an ankle injury and sicknes
