ALEXANDRIA, Ky. —
A woman is dead after a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle collided at an Alexandria intersection Monday morning, according to the Alexandria Police Chief.
It happened on AA Highway at Route 709 around 5:03 a.m.

According to Alexandria Police, an initial investigation suggests that the tractor trailer disregarded red light while headed southbound and struck the passenger vehicle in the intersection.
The driver of the passenger vehicle died. She has been identified as 62-year-old Shirley Yeary, from Falmouth.
The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured and is cooperating in the investigation.
