Daughter and legal heir of Shah Bano, Siddique Begum, served a legal notice to 'HAQ' movie's director Suparn Verma, Junglee Pictures, Baweja Studios and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Chairperson on Monday.

The notice was reportedly sent demanding "immediate restraint on the publication, screening, promotion or release of the upcoming film," alleging an "unauthorised depiction of her personal life without the consent of her legal heirs."

Tauseef Warsi, Siddique's lawyer, told news agency ANI, "The film

'HAQ' is releasing on November 7. This film is a landmark case of the MA Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum case. For the first time in Indian history, a Muslim woman fought for maintenance and won the case."
