Jakevion Buckley transferred to UNO after a successful season at Southeastern Louisiana in which he was a first-team All-Southland Conference selection.
Buckley will remain in the Southland for the 2025-26 season after trading in his Southeastern green for UNO blue. UNO president of basketball operations Percy “Master P” Miller led an effort to bring in transfers such as Buckley who had prior Division I experience.
UNO brought in eight transfers, and the reshaped roster delivered an 89-73 exhibition win over Sacramento State last month at Lakefront Arena in which Buckley took on a leading role. Nicknamed “Jay,” the senior point guard finished with a team-high 25 points and eight assists.
