KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's not her job that's stressing out disabled veteran Kay Parkison.
"When I arrived to work every day, I immediately have anxiety and stress," she said. "I just have a lot of pain."
It's parking downtown.
The same is true for Victor Fugate, another government employee who parks downtown.
$110, $115 a day can make the difference between you paying for gas, food, electric bills," Fugate said.
The city has ticketed both Parkison and Fugate hundreds of dollars' worth of tickets, despite having valid handicap tags. The most expensive of which are for handicap drivers parking at the meter for more than four hours.
"There's nothing about a four-hour time limit," Fugate said.
