Reader: Earlier this year, I started working fairly closely with a new hire. He seemed very nice, but it soon became clear he was not flourishing. He vented to me over Zoom a few times, and I attributed it to personality fit, communications issues with our manager and some skill gaps. I wasn’t surprised when he was let go a few months later.
