The OSAA soccer state playoffs are underway, and there are still 14 teams standing from Eugene-Springfield area high schools.
On the girls side, defending state champion Marist Catholic once again earned the No. 1 seed in the Class 4A bracket. Led by the reigning state player of the year , junior Libby McLaughlin, the Spartans are seeking their third-ever girls soccer title.
Meanwhile, the South Eugene boys will try to navigate their way through the Class 6A bracket as the No. 14 seed after winning the Southwest Conference title. The Axe, which feature SWC player of the year Finley Thurman, have won nine of their last 10 games.
