The family of the late rugby league legend Rob Burrow has opened the first purpose-built centre dedicated entirely to Motor Neuron Disease (MND) care, research and support in the UK.
The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) was officially opened at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds on Monday, an event which has been hailed as a "transformative moment in care".
Burrow’s son Jackson helped cut the ribbon surrounded by his mother, Lindsey , her other children – Macy and Maya – Rob's parents, and dozens of supporters who have helped bring the ambitious project to life.
The centre was Rob's dream and his consultant, Dr Agam Jung, was also present to unveil the state-of-the-art facility on Monday morning.
