JACKSONVILLE, Texas — A statewide Blue Alert has been activated in response to a shooting with police in east Texas.

Police in Jacksonville, south of Tyler say 64 year-old Bobby Dennis shot and injured an officer and a K-9 unit. Both were airlifted to Tyler for their injuries.

Police say Dennis is still on the run Monday morning and may be driving a gray 2012 GMC Sierra with a Texas license plate TRW3919. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and all black clothing near the 920 Block of Benson St in Jacksonville.

Law enforcement officials believe this suspect/vehicle to be associated with the serious injury of a law enforcement officer, involving a serious risk or threat to the public and other law enforcement personnel.
