Mumbai International Airport will be closed for flight operations for six hours on November 20, from 11 am to 5 pm, due to scheduled runway maintenance. This annual post-monsoon maintenance is crucial for ensuring safety and compliance with global aviation standards, as stated by the airport operator, Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), which is owned by the Adani Group and the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

During this period, both cross runways, 09/27 and 14/32, will be temporarily non-operational. The maintenance work will involve detailed inspections, surface repairs, and assessments of runway lighting, markings, and drainage systems.

Mumbai Airport is the second-busiest airport in India, handling around 950 flights daily, following Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. To facilitate smooth operations, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued in advance, allowing airlines and other stakeholders to adjust their flight schedules and staffing accordingly. This proactive communication aims to minimize any inconvenience to passengers during the maintenance period.
