NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WWLP) - Two teenagers were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 140 South in New Bedford early Saturday morning.

NBC Boston states that the crash occurred at around 2 a.m., resulting in the death of a 17-year-old boy in the accident and a 15-year-old girl who later died at the hospital.

Police arrived to find that two people had been thrown from the vehicle. The driver, an 18-year-old, was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

The identities of those involved in the crash have not been released. As the investigation continues, the community is left mourning the loss of two young lives in this tragic accident.
