CHARLESTOWN, Ind. — On a Sunday night at First Baptist Charlestown, people came to package food donated to the church.
Andrew Farrie came with his dad to help.
"It feels really awesome to be helping somebody else out," Farrie said. "I had dinner today and it's like, 'Wow, thank you Lord. Let me help somebody else out.'."
Volunteers packed food into bags, received from a food drive at the church's Fall Festival, Saturday. Lead Pastor Shea Allen said they decided to collect donations after hearing from the mayor about the food insecurity in the city.
"We decided to shift and really think about how we can meet the needs of the community and be a blessing," Allen said.
