Dr. Charanya Sivaramakrishnan said she spent the two years of her critical care fellowship living a double life — as a mother and physician. She said she felt like she had to keep those two parts of herself separate if she was to succeed.

Now, as PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center’s intensive care unit director, Sivaramakrishnan makes it her priority that all of the families on her team have the resources needed for work-life balance.

PeaceHealth this spring selected Sivaramakrishnan, who works at the nonprofit’s Vancouver hospital, from among all its employees throughout three states to receive the 2025 PeaceHealth Mission and Value Award.
