Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made headlines on Monday with a pointed critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav during a rally in Darbhanga, Bihar. He likened them to Mahatma Gandhi's 'three monkeys', referring to them as "Pappu, Tappu, and Appu". Yogi stated that these leaders are blind, deaf, and mute to the development in Bihar, echoing the famous saying of the three monkeys who "speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil".
Addressing the crowd, Yogi said, "Pappu cannot speak the truth or say anything good. Tappu cannot see any truth, and Appu cannot hear the truth." He accused the Mahagathbandhan of colluding with mafias and inciting caste conflicts, claiming they fail to recognize the progress made by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He further alleged that these leaders disrupt state security and engage in divisive politics.
In response, Congress leader Pawan Khera criticized Yogi's remarks, asserting that he insulted Lord Hanuman. Khera remarked, "He is a Yogi, but he is insulting Hanuman ji. The public is watching and hearing this."
The Bihar Assembly elections are set to take place in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with results to be announced on November 14. The final list of voters stands at 7.42 crore, following the removal of 65 lakh voters from the draft list. The political landscape is heating up as parties prepare for a competitive election season, with the BJP aiming to retain its influence in the state.
