The US Department of Labor (DOL) announced that its Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) has resumed processing applications for temporary and permanent employment programmes, following a nearly month-long outage caused by a federal funding lapse during a government shutdown.

This disruption, starting around September 30, halted critical services for employers relying on foreign talent in tech, healthcare, and other sectors. Employers can now submit new Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) for H-1B visas—specialty occupation visas popular among skilled professionals—and track ongoing ones via the fully operational online portal.
