The day after crowning a World Series champion, MLB recognized two Boston Red Sox position players for their fielding prowess.

MLB revealed the 2025 Gold Glove Award winners on Sunday night. Boston’s outfield was well represented, with center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela and right fielder Wilyer Abreu earning recognition in the American League.

Rafaela unsurprisingly won his first Gold Glove after a stellar season. His 20 defensive runs saved (DRS) in center field led the position and only trailed Steven Kwan, the AL’s Gold Glove winner in left field, among all MLB players.

The 25-year-old led all outfielders with 22 outs above average (OAA) and tallied eight assists with just five errors at his primary position. That’s despite Rafaela starting 19 games at second base down the stret
