In an example of turnabout being fair play, Drake has been accused of benefiting from “billions of fraudulent streams” in a lawsuit against Spotify.
Naming Long Beach rapper RBX as the lead plaintiff “on behalf of other members of the general public similarly situated,” the federal class action lawsuit was filed in California District Court on Sunday night.
“Every month, under Spotify’s watchful eye, billions of fraudulent streams are generated from fake, illegitimate, and/or illegal methods [like bots],” the complaint reads. “This mass-scale fraudulent streaming causes massive financial harm to legitimate artists, songwriters, producers, and other rightsholders whose proportional share is decreased as a result of fraudulent stream inflation on Spotify’s platform.” Related Video
