Saskatoon is set to host one of the biggest curling events in recent years.
The SaskTel Centre is set to host the 100th anniversary edition of the Montana’s Brier in 2027, Curling Canada announced Monday.
“Hosting the 100th anniversary of the Brier is an exciting opportunity for our province,” Saskatchewan tourism minister Alana Ross said in a press release. “Curling is Saskatchewan’s official sport, and our province has a proud legacy of producing champions.
“This milestone event will showcase Saskatchewan’s unique hospitality through vibrant visitor experiences that strengthen our economy.”
This will be the seventh time Saskatoon has hosted the tournament, ranking it third among host cities after Toronto (14) and Calgary (eight). It last hosted the Brier in 2012, with Ontario’s team,
