As you probably know by now, the Toronto Blue Jays were inches away from winning the World Series.
The old sports adage goes that there’s always next year, but diehard sports fans know that’s not exactly true.
Since 2000, only six teams have lost a World Series and then later went on to win one in the coming years, though often with entirely different rosters. For example, the 2011 and 2012 Texas Rangers lost back-to-back World Series before finally winning the franchise’s first title in 2023.
Toronto, meanwhile, will be looking to emulate a team like the 2015 Kansas City Royals, who bounced back from a 2014 World Series loss to win it all.
For Blue Jays fans, some might be optimistic heading into the 2026 season, even if there’s bound to be some roster turnover .
