SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — In early 2025, the state passed a law that brought several changes to how Utahns vote. Here's what you need to know before election day.
Mail-in ballots must be received before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, in order to count. H.B. 300 eliminated the postmark deadline, instead requiring ballots to be received by county clerks by the deadline.
"A ballot that is mailed must be received by the election officer on or before 8 p.m. on election day,” the bill says.
Ballots returned to a drop box still have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
