A serious crash on Chester Pike in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, on Monday morning sent five people to the hospital and caused a gas line to rupture, according to police.

Police responded to Chester Pike near Summit Avenue around 10 a.m. for reports of a major crash.

Prospect Park Police Chief Dave Madonna said five people were injured in the crash and rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

"[Conditions] still to be determined, but if you're in the impact such as this, it's going to have some serious injuries," Madonna said.

Police have not revealed the exact details of what led to the crash, but they preliminarily believe reckless driving was involved.
