Naloxone boxes will be placed at metro stations around Baltimore in the aftermath of several recent mass overdoses. Naloxone is a medicine that can reverse an opioid overdose.
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and other community advocates held a ribbon cutting Monday morning to place a set of boxes at the Penn North Metro Station, the neighborhood where there were three mass overdoses.
“Naloxone is a life-saving tool that each and every one of us can use to help stop a person from overdosing,” Scott said.
Holly Arnold, administrator of the Maryland Transit Administration, expressed gratitude in launching the initiative at MTA stations.
