ALEXANDRIA, Ky. (WXIX) - A 62-year-old woman is dead following an early Monday crash on the AA Highway.

Shirley Yeary, 62, of Falmouth, died at the scene of the wreck at the intersection of the AA Highway and Kentucky 709, according to Alexandria police.

Officers responded to the crash around 5 a.m.

Police said a semi was southbound when the driver disregarded a red light and hit Yeary’s vehicle in the intersection.

The driver of the semi is okay and is cooperating in the investigation, police explained.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
