SCOTIA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Schenectady woman was arrested on Monday after she allegedly falsely reported finding a sewing needle in Halloween candy, according to the Scotia Police Department. Authorities had launched an investigation over the weekend following the report.
According to police, the woman had posted on the "Scotia Glenville Current Events" Facebook page that she had found a needle in a piece of Halloween candy received during trick-or-treating. After the post garnered public concern, she allegedly called authorities to formally report the alleged incident.
