DETROIT, MI - Two Michigan men are facing federal terrorism charges after investigators say they plotted an attack on behalf of the Islamic State group and stockpiled weapons and ammunition in the months leading up to Halloween weekend .
Federal prosecutors filed a 73-page criminal complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan against Mohmed Ali, 20, and Majed Mahmoud, alleging the pair conspired to transfer firearms and ammunition knowing they would be used to carry out a violent attack in the United States.
According to the complaint, investigators uncovered encrypted communications between Ali, Mahmoud, and a juvenile co-conspirator discussing plans to launch an assault in the name of ISIS. The messages, exchanged from July through October, described the
