A New Jersey woman stabbed her 2-year-old brother in the chest over the weekend, authorities said Sunday.

Marlene Rodriguez, 20, was charged with attempted murder for the attack at a home in Brick Township, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s office said Sunday in a press release. The victim has not been publicly identified.

Cops responded to the home near the Garden State Parkway around 2:30 p.m., officials said. They found the 2-year-old boy with a stab wound to the chest , and he was transported to Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune, authorities said. He was listed in stable condition.

Investigators determined Rodriguez had stabbed the boy in the chest , according to the prosecutor’s office. Cops did not publicly release the evidence that led them to that conclusion.
