ST LOUIS - Canadian Corey Wray, whose resume includes front-office stints with Toronto FC, CF Montreal and Columbus, has been named sporting director of St. Louis City FC.
The MLS team says Wray will oversee all of its sporting operations from scouting and recruitment to player health and performance, as well as overseeing the pathway from the academy to the first team.
“Corey is a progressive sporting director who brings a forward-thinking, holistic approach to building winning teams,” St. Louis president and general manager Diego Gigliani said in a statement. “His extensive knowledge of the MLS landscape, deep squad building and recruiting expertise, and proven track record in creating high performing, sustainable organizations and cultures makes him an ideal fit for the club.
