BRANFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A man is facing several charges following an incident at a Walmart in Branford on Sunday.

At around 10:15 a.m. patrolling officers were in the parking lot of a Walmart when they they found a car with a stolen registration plate, the police department said.

It was also found that the suspected vehicle was stolen from Branford back in early October.

When police approached the driver, he was uncooperative and did not listen when officer told him to step out of the car.

The operator then tried to flee from the scene and while doing so, he struck several police cruisers as well as a customer’s vehicle.

On-scene officers also positioned their cruisers in an attempt to stop the suspect from injuring bystanders in the area and causing more damage.
