Brant joins a growing list of municipalities ready to welcome Quebec doctors with open arms.

Following the introduction of Bill 2 in Quebec, the Brant Community Healthcare System — which oversees Brantford General Hospital and the Willett Urgent Care Centre in Paris — knows there’s an influx of Quebec physicians looking to move.

The new law abruptly changes the way doctors are compensated, sets collective targets, and introduces demoralizing surveillance measures, according to an open letter the Collège des médecins du Québec released on Friday.

It has pushed more than 100 Quebec doctors to get their Ontario licences, and another 200 have started the process, it said.
