OCU lands $18 million gift. Who gave it, and how will it be spent?

The foundation named for late Oklahoma City philanthropist Herman Meinders says it’s giving $18 million to Oklahoma City University, matching the largest gift Meinders gave to the private school while he was alive.

OCU officials announced the gift from The Meinders Foundation on Monday, Nov. 3. The money will be held in the Herman Meinders Endowment at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, with an annual distribution of nearly $1 million.
