The heroic train driver from Huntingdon, who played a crucial role in preventing further violence during a recent attack, has modestly downplayed his actions.

Andrew Johnson, an Iraq veteran, insisted today that "The action I took is the same as any other driver" in a statement released through LNER.

He revealed that he requested an unscheduled stop after violence broke out on the London-bound Azuma just after 7.30pm on Saturday.

Drawing on his two decades of experience as a driver, Mr Johnson managed to halt at Huntingdon train station, where armed officers were waiting.
