PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Grammy winner, Broadway star, R &B singer and LGBTQ+ ally Melba Moore is in Philadelphia Monday for a star-studded concert to celebrate her music - and her humanity.
The Kimmel Center's Marian Anderson Hall will be filled with the sounds of her groundbreaking music for the 3rd annual Mazzoni Center Honors.
"Philadelphia is like extended family," says Moore. "I have so much history there."
"Melba's music brought life to people, and the work at Mazzoni Center helps people live their lives as their full selves, and literally saves lives," says David Weisberg, the Chief Development Officer at Mazzoni Center. "We see 15,000 patients and clients every year, many of whom, if we did not exist, would have no place to go for care. We're the only place that they feel safe.
