President Donald Trump is planning to send U.S. troops and drones to Mexico in his ongoing battle against drug cartels, NBC News reported , citing two U.S. officials and two former senior U.S. officials who are familiar with the effort.
The mission would include ground operations inside Mexico and the early stages of training for the operation have already begun.
Plans call for U.S. troops in Mexico to strike drug labs and cartel members and leaders with drones.
But officials said that an actual deployment to Mexico is not imminent and a final decision on the operation hasn’t been made.
