NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- North Greenbush Police (NGPD) reported an arrest was made last week in an identity theft investigation. Michael Pankow, of Watervliet, is facing felony charges.

On September 8, Pankow was arrested for petit larceny after reportedly stealing just under $100 from a local Hannaford store. Investigators learned after Pankow had been processed and released that he had provided law enforcement with another person's name and signed several identifying pieces of legal paperwork using the false name.

Police acquired an arrest warrant for Pankow after determining his real name and took him into custody on October 28 at the Albany County Jail, where he was being held for an unrelated incident. He now faces the following additional charges: • First-degree identity
