WILKES-BARRE — A man from Scranton pledged Monday he will never stalk women again.
Jeffrey John Hergert, 50, address listed as North Rebecca Avenue, apologized for stalking at least five women outside fitness facilities in Edwardsville and Wilkes-Barre Township prior to being sentenced by Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas.
Hergert said he never intended to hurt anyone and understood how his actions caused emotional harm toward the women.
“I have almost a decade that I haven’t been in trouble,” Hergert said, adding, “I’m the kind of person who would never hurt them. I’m truly sorry and feel bad for them.”
