WILKES-BARRE — A Wilkes-Barre man arrested in 2023 on allegations he possessed and shared child sexual abuse materials was sentenced in Luzerne County Court on Monday.
Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. sentenced Octavio Espinoza-Tapia, 38, of South Meade Street, to one-to-two years at the county correctional facility on nine counts of possession of child pornography, and one count each of dissemination of child sexual abuse materials and tampering with evidence. Espinoza-Tapia did not challenge the charges in a no-contest plea on May 22.
Espinoza-Tapia was also sentenced to serve seven years probation and register his address as a sex offender for 25 years under the state’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act.
