Marco Sturm and the Bruins now know the extent of Elias Lindholm’s injury .

The top-line center is considered week-to-week after an MRI confirmed what Boston suspected, the coach told reporters on Monday . Sturm did not go into detail about what the MRI revealed.

Lindholm was injured during the second period of the Bruins’ 4-3 win over the Sabres on Oct. 30 when he collided with Buffalo center Jordan Greenway near the Bruins’ blue line. He remained down and was assisted off the ice with help from Charlie McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm.

The Bruins have not yet placed Lindholm on injured reserve, which they would need to do to call up a player from Providence. As of now they’re carrying one extra forward.
