LOWELL, Mass. —

Lowell police have released images of a vehicle sought in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a woman in the Massachusetts city last week.

Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the 700 block of Chelmsford Street at about 11:55 p.m. Oct. 30. The woman was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The motor vehicle that struck her fled the scene. Lowell police released images of a gray or dark-colored SUV sought in connection with the crash Monday.

The crash is under investigation by the Lowell Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit, the Lowell Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Middlesex district attorney’s office.
