Tyson Foerster suffered a lower-body injury Saturday night after blocking a shot in the first period of the Flyers' 5-2 loss to the Maple Leafs .

The 23-year-old winger was unavailable Sunday night for the Flyers' home game against the Flames. On Monday afternoon, he was placed on injured reserve, a move retroactive to Saturday, so he should be out for at least the next three games.

"He's obviously not going to play the next few games," head coach Rick Tocchet said before the Flyers' 2-1 loss to Calgary . "We'll reevaluate in about three or four days."

With Foerster on IR, the Flyers brought back defenseman Emil Andrae.
