DETROIT, MI - Two Michigan men accused of plotting an ISIS-inspired attack appeared Monday in federal court in Detroit and were ordered to remain jailed until a detention hearing on Nov. 10.
Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud, both age 20, are charged with conspiring to transfer firearms and ammunition knowing they would be used to support the Islamic State group, according to a 73-page criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan .
The case follows a series of arrests last Friday after what officials described as a months-long FBI investigation that uncovered a “radical Islamic terror plot” involving AR-style rifles, shotguns, and tactical gear .
